Neurologist, Neurophysiologist and Somnologist, head of the EEG/Sleep Laboratory and Neurophysiology Monitoring Unit at the Neurosciences and Mental Health Department of Hospital de Santa Maria-Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte (HSM-CHULN) and co-coordinator of the Sleep Medicine Centre of Hospital da Luz. She’s also the head of the Reference Center for Refractory Epilepsies at HSM-CHULN, full member of the European Reference Network for Rare and Complex Epilepsies.

She is a consultant Neurologist with a recognized Clinical Neurophysiology subspecialty (2003) and Sleep Medicine competence (2015) by the Portuguese Medical Board. Besides, she’s an expert somnologist by the European Sleep Research Society (2015) and has a postgraduation on Leadership and Management of Health Organizations (2008) by ISCTE Business School-University Institute of Lisbon. 

She has a Doctoral degree in Medicine (Neurology) by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon (FMUL) where she is an Assistant Professor. Furthermore, she is the author and co-author of several peer-reviewed papers in international journals in Neurology, Neurophysiology, Sleep and Epilepsy, having an h-index of 15 and an i10 index of 24.
