On March 30th the debate "The Book is Dead. Long Live the Book!", moderated by Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the Catholic University of Portugal and professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences. A debate that will take place at the Goethe-Institut, in Lisbon, starting at 7pm.
Gerhard Lauer and Isabel Alçada are the guest speakers of this 1st session of the cycle of conversations "The future of knowledge", organized by the Católica and the Goethe-Institut.
What changes will digitalization bring to the world of books and reading? What are young and old reading, how are publishers and bookstores dealing with digital challenges, and what new paths are being blazed by digital platforms? These are some of the questions the speakers will seek to answer in this conversation dedicated to the future of reading and books.
This is the first of other events that the Goethe-Institut promotes, in collaboration with the Faculty of Humanities and the Portuguese Catholic University on the future of knowledge.
The next day, the speaker Gerhard Lauer is also a guest at the colloquium "Mind, Body, Culture: Cognitive Poetics Today" organized by the Center for Communication and Culture Studies of the Faculty of Humanities.
