Professor Elihu Katz, one of the founders of Communication Sciences, passed away on 31 December. The author of 20 books and over 200 scientific articles, Professor Katz brought about a paradigm shift in studies on the effects of the media. 

In September 2017, during his inaugural lecture to PhD and Master’s students in Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Human Sciences, Professor Katz underscored the importance of deepening the study of how media events shape our perception of reality. FCH thus pays tribute to the many valuable lessons Prof Katz imparted throughout his life.
