The Portuguese Minister for Culture, Pedro Adão e Silva, presented the consultative commission responsible for electing the next delegation who will officially represent the country at the 60th Venice Biennale, in 2024, and CECC’s researcher Luísa Santos is one of its members, designated as an art critic. Together with Philippe Vergne, director of Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves; João Pinharanda, director of MAAT: Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia; and curators Bruno Marchand and Margarida Mendes, she will be especially in charge of proposing a group of Portuguese curators or artists for the competition, which will be announced until August 2023 by DGArtes. This institution has made public its expectations over the work-to-pursue by the recently elected consultors as follows: a broader and more representative selection process about what has been produced in Portugal in the Arts.
