Last Saturday, February 17, the Faculty of Human Sciences brought together dozens of former students for its first Alumni Day, an event entirely dedicated to former students. The aim of the event was to bring together Alumni from all scientific areas, not forgetting Postgraduate Courses and Advanced Programs so that they could meet old colleagues and establish new professional contacts.

The opening session, led by Prof. Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prof. Nelson Ribeiro, Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences and Prof. Jorge Santos Alves, member of the Board of the Faculty of Human Sciences and Head of Alumni Affairs, celebrated the "homecoming" of all the Alumni present, thanking them for their participation and contribution (present and future) to the Alumni Hub FCH, the Faculty's Alumni network.

This was followed by a panel made up of former students from the different scientific areas, including Maria João Costa (CSC '97), Marisa Ferreira (SS '07), Francisca Cardoso (CSC '18 and MCC '20), Chon Neng Cheung (LEA '22) and Guilherme Brás (PSIC '22). In this panel, each of these former students spoke a little about their experience as a student, how they started their professional career and what they are working on now.

Afterwards, we welcomed David Dinis, Deputy Editor of Expresso and former student of Communication and Cultural Sciences for a talk entitled " Will it be as bad as it looks?", in which he spoke about some of the main challenges and threats to our society and our way of life; with a focus on what the next few years have in store for Portugal, especially in political terms, given the upcoming legislative elections.

To close, we gathered all the Alumni in the FCH bar for lunch, where they could socialize and exchange contacts.
