CRC-W Lab ECOGwise

This Lab focuses on enhancing our understanding of basic mental processes and their effects on behavior. It aims to advance knowledge of affective and cognitive processes within Experimental Psychology by employing physiological, behavioral, and self-report measures, as well as developing and adapting instruments to assess emotions, emotion regulation, sleep, family interactions, and human-machine interactions. The Lab explores affective processes such as stress, empathic responses, and both positive and negative emotions, examining their connections with attention, perception, and behavior, including expressive behavior and interpersonal relations. Additionally, it investigates cognitive function, sleep, and explores the possibilities of Cyberpsychology - the latter involving studying emotions and attitudes toward technology, and creating digital solutions to enhance psychological well-being and encourage positive behavior changes mediated by emotion and other basic processes. Research also includes developing psychological interventions to promote human well-being, such as emotional regulation (e.g., in children) and behavior adjustment (e.g., food and sleep habits, pro-environmental behavior).
