Seminar on Assessment and Intervention in Health Psychology and Wellbeing II

7 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese
Successful students should: Become familiar with the main perspectives on risk behaviours and apply this knowledge to the prevention, promotion and restoration of health; Understand the multifactorial nature of eating disorders and obesity and their implications for different formats for the prevention and treatment of these pathologies, specifically in adolescence; Understand the relevance of psychosocial intervention in crisis emergency and disaster situations, means of stress prevention and implementation of intervention projects in these situations; Perceive the impact of chronic disease on individual life, the relevance of cognitive-behavioural therapies in the chronic disease adaptation process, and develop assessment, formulation and clinical intervention skills specific to cases of patients with chronic diseases; Grasp the challenges and functional organization principles of Palliative Care.
